Well, today turned out nothing like we had planned, but it was a great day.
We woke up this morning, expecting to go to Cozumel on a snorkel excursion, but due to winds, they closed the port, so we weren't able to go. Instead, we laid in bed reading Percy Jackon books, drinking coffee. Then we headed out to breakfast. WOW! the breakfast restaurant has an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G buffet, so Eric and I both had that. After stuffing ourselves (in hopes that we could hold off until a late afternoon snack as the breakfast buffet was $25/person) we went to the pool. We arrived at 10:40 and left around 3:40pm. You guessed it--we are red. :) We both used sunscreen and I took advantage of the umbrella frequently, but I am still burned in a few places. We read most of the day. It was awesome. The pool we went to was a new one for us. The adult infinity pool had the nicest lounge chairs, which is why I think were there for 5 hours. At about 3:00pm-ish I took off to the cafe to sit under the shade and play sudoku and a few other logic puzzle games. I can't take nearly as much sun as Eric can.
After the sun and the pool, we went back to the restaurant we had breakfast at, had some chips and guac and a drink each, and headed back to the suite.
Eric has been reading and is now watching soccer, and I've been registering for 2010 races. What an expensive adventure! :) Boulder Sprint was $91 with fees and all. What a rip off! :)
Tonight we are going to a late dinner at El Puerto.
We're still crossing our fingers that United will be able to change our tickets to allow us to stay another two days, but it's looking less and less hopeful. We are super bummed. Staying in Mexico for two more days would be soooooooooo great. We just aren't ready to leave. But, if the flights are full, they're full. Sad. Sad. Sad.
If we have to go home on Thursday, as originally planned, tomorrow is our last full day to enjoy the sun and fun. That is also sad. We're very thankful for the experience, though.
Keep your fingers crossed that we can stay two more days!!
Hope you are enjoying the blog!
