It's noon on Monday, Maldivian time, and we made it safely on the sea plane to the Conrad Rangali, Hilton's premier hotel here. We just (a bit ago), swam in the ocean and popped open a bottle of bubbly, and toasted to paradise, in the hot tub on our back porch, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Photos will go up tonight. They are unbelieveable. There is a movie we will upload to youtube tonight, too.
After a fresh water rinse, I'm towel clad and sleepily laying in the super comfy bed, listening to Enya-type melodies streaming out of the TV, wondering what to do next. We could take a nap, which is likely later, before dinner, or go walk around our island and the main island. There is a 24 hour gym there and some restuarants we want to go check out. We are on the adults only island...and it's so quiet and peaceful. The wind is blowing like crazy outside...I can see it rustling the straw thatched roof out of the floor to ceiling glass windows.
The ocean is rougher than I thought it would be, but even more amazing in person. Way far out we can see waves breaking on the reef. Big huge waves, too. You woudn't want to get stuck out there! There is a live coral outside in "our ocean" and pretty fishies are swimming around in it. You can see them if you look over the deck from the hottub. Our scuba/snorkel bag arrived a few minutes ago so now we can really see some beautiful stuff.
There is a lot to catch up on to this story, but now it's time to relax, let the champange kick in, listen to the wind blow against the roof, and the waves crash into the stilts that our little piece of heaven is built on.
To my female friends---Maldivian men......oh my. Oh, oh my.
<3, Brandy
