Tuesday in the Maldvies

It's Tuesday morning on the island! Eric and I woke up about 6am. I was on the deck, in the crazy wind storm we're having, playing with the hottub. There is a setting that turns on lights that change colors. It's awesome. We'll get a video of it when the storm dies down. We're hoping today is the last day of this weather.

We just had coffee on the deck, while taking photos. The videos are going to be great!!

Last night was cool. After we woke up late from our nap, and missed our reservations for Mandahoo, they extended our time. :) Mandahoo is a restaurant with smaller portion foods (or a real sized portion depending on how you look at it). Alot of their produce is grown on an island close to here...it's an excursion you can take actually...and is organic. Food is REALLY REALLY expensive here, so Mandahoo also is more reasonably priced. Some ppl say that since the portions are smaller, you end up spending the same amount but I disagree.Eric and I each had one meal and it was fine. Granted, they brought us bread (of which I only had one piece), and an appetizer (lobster wonton) from the Chef, and at the end two truffles...so it was a lot more food than we expected. The Evian bottled water was the kicker though! $9 per bottle...for the medium sized bottle. What is it..1 liter or something. Yeah, pricey!! But everything is importedd, so it makes sense.

Eric had reef fish and I had seared tuna. AMAZING. It was delicious. We are going back there more often! They officially have the best mango sorbet ever...with chunks of real mango. Oh my goodness....soooo good!!

On the way back (over a mile walk), we had to cross the  lit bridge, where the fish hang out under because they like the light. To our delight, we saw the shadow of a MANTA RAY!! We've been looking and looking for one. A shadow was nice, but it's Manta season--we want to see one at the top, doing flips. Maybe when we scuba!

Ok, well, time to get cleaned up for breakfast and brave the wind storm again! :)

We are headed to the underground restaurant for cocktails today (and photos and videos!) and 90 minute massages for both of us. YAY!

Hope your days in the States went well. We're just waking up!

Love, Brandy
